Ingredient search using Name - Ingredient search

An ingredient is searched for using either the ingredient name or SNOMED.

1. An ingredient search for valid ingredients.

By default, invalid products are not shown. However, invalid products are displayed by selecting the box labelled 'Show Invalid Items'.

Enter the ingredient name into the box labelled 'Ingredient name / SNOMED code' and select the search button. This returns a list of matching ingredients.

2. The results table provides the ingredient name which relates to the search criteria entered.

To view an ingredient, select the appropriate ingredient name. This will redirect to a separate page presenting further detail. For example, associated codes or Virtual Medicinal Products (VMPs).

3. An ingredient entry of Ibuprofen.

From here, more details on the VMPs can be accessed by selecting the relevant name from the list.

From here, more details on the parent products or pack information can be accessed by selecting the relevant name from the list. Finally, further information can be sought via the links within the 'Further Links' section.
